Many developments are required to have landscape and visual impact assessments (LVIAs) to support a planning application. It is a process that benefits from early involvement so that key issues can be identified and design considerations can be taken on board to mitigated the potential impacts. We have a wealth of experience for a diverse range of clients and across many sectors and can bring our range of computer and graphic expertise to bear for modelling and illustrating your proposal.

Housing: We have experience of housing sites at a strategic assessment level, medium and large site developments (up to 2400 units) and individual house assessments. We have acted as lead designers guiding the approach to the layout, form and style of developments in order to produce distinctive developments with minimum visual impacts on surrounding landscapes (sometimes designated) and visual receptors.

Renewables: We have a range of experience in this sector producing LVIAs and evidence for public inquiry for large strategic projects such as an incinerator, wind and solar farms, and a municipal recycling site. We have acted for developers, local authorities and for community action groups.

Other sectors have included a major development in Henley on Thames (Townlands Hospital), other healthcare and educational projects, commercial developments outside the settlement boundary in Hungerford and at Great Lea south of Reading (won at appeal).

We have also carried out LVIAs or related work for over 20 highways projects, for river restoration work all over the south east and for minerals planning in Shetland.
